"Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” - Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." Deuteronomy 6:5 NKJV

ABOUT
David Hilgendorf
Engineer, Author and Podcaster
I've always loved (had a dream) to write, in particular I've loved sharing other people's stories.
As a young man I wrote for the local newspaper in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Once entering college I dropped my original plan to major in journalism and got a degree in Chemical Engineering, putting my love for writing on hold.
I enjoyed working as an engineer for a number of years but left that to pursue get rich quick schemes (flipping houses), always searching for "something better".
That ended in bankruptcy, financially and emotionally. Through that brokeness I began blogging about faith at work and wrote the book "Jesus is at Work - Having Joy and Purpose at Your Current Job
I started listening to podcasts and decided to start my own, Spirit Led Men at Work which I later renamed Christian Men at Work, where I interviewed Christian Men from all walks of life, with varying job titles, to encourage other men to have joy and purpose in their work.
In 2024, the podcast was renamed Jacobs Ladder, with the goal to help men to love God, others and themselves at work and at home, from a Messianic perspective.
